Bluff Lake Nature Center is a unique urban natural area dedicated to educating and inspiring people of all ages to respect, protect, and connect with our natural world. Located in Northeast Denver, we provide an easy to access natural space in the midst of a rapidly growing area. We are open 365 days a year sunrise to sunset and admission is always free.
In order to carry out our mission we focus the majority of our efforts to preserving the 123 acre site, serving as an outdoor classroom where more than 7,000 students participated in our field trips alone in 2019, and providing a myriad of events and programs so we can make nature accessible to all ages with various abilities.
One of our largest programs are our field trips. Over 85% of the schools that come to Bluff Lake attend Title 1 schools. These students often have never had a similar outdoor experience before visiting Bluff Lake. We provide these field trips to Title 1 schools free of charge and reimburse their bussing costs, so that we can ensure this opportunity is available to all students. This is just one example of what your donation could help fund at Bluff Lake. Additional costs that your donation would help fund are site upkeep and plant purchases, supplies for events and programs that we provide free of charge to the public, staffing costs for our incredibly dedicated staff, and summer camp scholarships that we offer to families in need.
